Introduction

Our client, one of India’s leading online travel companies, was looking to simplify as well as strengthen its vendor onboarding system. Our client services range from the flight, bus, car rental booking to hotel and resort bookings that provide best in class accommodation. Our client onboards 1000s of vendors every month for different services. Since our client is a completely online firm, the different service providers are the ground contact of customers.
Now, to maintain the great reputation built by the company over the years and also provide the customers with quality services, it is necessary to onboard verified vendors who do not engage in improper and fraudulent activities. Now, verifying each vendor physically would be an extremely long route. So, we provide the smarter solution, i.e., digital KYC. With our Aadhaar and PAN verification API, vendor onboarding has become seamless for our client. Our API verifies the identity and bank accounts related to the vendor and we also provided them with a criminal record check via police verification.
It is imperative to the client to onboard good service providers and authentic vendors so that the customers do not face any difficulty and the user base grows. Also, it was important to save the vendors from the long and resource-consuming background verification checks.

How do we do it?

We built a system where our APIs combined with OCR and video KYC onboarded the vendors successfully whilst verifying their identities. The OCR and video KYC matched the person’s face in real time with the provided photos and documents. Bank account verification was done and the name is matched with PAN card numbers to make sure that the money was transferred to the concerned person only and was not being transferred to a scam account. Also, the criminal records and other background checks were performed to ensure that our client was partnering up with genuine vendors only. Also, this digital process reduced the manual effort of verifying a person. This reduces operation costs for our client and also proves to be an efficient service for the vendor to get verified without going through the long procedures thereby reducing vendor onboarding time. Now, more vendors could be added in a lesser time frame.
With our APIs, you simply have to input the ID number, say PAN number or Aadhaar number in this case, into the system and it will give you results in an instant. We check the inputs through the government as well as the public database. So, the chances of error are almost equivalent to zero. Our APIs extract data like name, age, d.o.b, address, photo, mobile number, and gender for ID verification. All this process is spontaneous. We won’t keep you waiting for the results.
The vendor onboarding process was fastened with less space for manual errors. Now, our client provides more services at lesser operational costs with authentic vendors.
